No worries. I've known it for a while, as I talked with the main guy at each of the dealerships. Managed to get a bit of information haha. Still kinda sucks how the car was in a "no photo" zone for such a long time. Great to see someone bought it though!
I do :) This One-77 came up to Auckland for a while, as the owner had died, as you may know.
This car was then passed on to his son, who decided to sell it to the McLaren dealership in Auckland. This was at the time where it was a strictly no photo opportunity at all, due to security reasons. Luckily, I was the only person in NZ to get photos during this time. The staff member at the dealership said I can take photos, as long as no one sees them online. So I was extremely lucky.
After a while at the McLaren dealership, the Aston Martin/Lamborghini dealership purchased it, and had it displayed in their showroom for a few months. This was then moved to a private garage, which is a no public access garage. Luckily, I managed to spot it tucked up in the corner of a garage in Auckland, which wasn't part of the dealership. Two staff members of the dealership took out the One-77 and a V8 Vantage on the streets, and parked them in a rather heavy security garage, but luckily I managed to get a photo of the rear end of the One-77 before anyone could see me.
Just recently, this One-77 was sold in the region of $3.5-$3.9 million NZD to a Auckland resident. Luckily, it is staying shoreside, because I would have hated to see this leave NZ.
@aussiehard holy cr*p man good to see you posting again after so long!!! Love this spot, were they just cruising around chch or are they doing a tour around nz?? I nearly got to see the one-77 a couple weeks ago but it was in Auckland being serviced but hopefully when I get to come down next.
He owns a Freight Company and lives about 2 blocks form me. He drives this thing ALL the time. With the Christchurch roads still in a bad shape since the earthquake, would not be too soft of a ride. I do have some other photos of this too that I will post shortly.
Very nice owner, lets anyone and everyone sit in it. He does a lot of charity work (Dives a passenger around) for the day after winning it as a prize at various charity Auctions.
