@bergernbrasserie, it was immediately apparent that the car is an R Type Continental with coachwork by H J Mulliner, and I have the details of all R Type Continentals built.
It is not a Bentley S — it is a very rare and desirable Bentley R Type Continental, one of 192 with all-aluminium H J Mulliner coachwork (out of a total of 207 produced). Styled by John Blatchley and engineered by Ivan Evernden, it was the fastest (and most expensive) 4-seater car in the world at the time.
The information on this particular car is as follows:
1. 22nd R-Type Continental built.
2. 1953 Bentley R-Type Continental 2-Door Saloon by H J Mulliner.
3. Chassis number BC23A, Registration 6835HZ75.
4. Specially order with Lenin mascot in lieu of the Flying B mascot.
5. First owner: Gerard Foussier, President of Pernod Ricard and then Coca-Cola in France.
5. The car was sold to its present owner for £1,400,000 in 2017.
