We all know that the DB9, while still a beautiful car, was becoming... well, old, especially next to the completely redesigned Vanquish. However, what we have here in the photos is a thoroughly redesigned DB9 that boasts exterior styling similar to that of the recently-departed Virage.
That means a sleeker and curvier body and a grille inspired by the One-77. It has interior similar to the new Vanquish, which means softer materials, upgraded leather, a sportier center console, more interior color combo options, and more trim options. As for weight-saving materials, many body panels are aluminum, including the door panels, side skirts, front and rear bumpers, and the hood. Lastly, the engine in the DB9 is revised.
It still has the beloved 6.0L V-12, however the car now produces an impressive 510 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque, thanks in part to new cylinder heads, intake manifold, and fuel pump. These figures are good for an increase of 40 hp and 14 lb-ft. Car fans will get a close-up preview of the DB9 and DB9 Volante at the Paris Motor Show, starting September 29th, 2012. The DB9 will start at $185,400 and will be in dealerships by summer 2013.
Now, for our dedicated ExoticSpotter members, it may be hard to tell the new DB9 from the Virage. Well, the easiest way to tell is the hood vents. The DB9 has them, the Virage doesn't. The DB9 will be a great addition to the vast collection of photos, and we can't wait to see them!
