Description Deleted a few pictures to upload this. By far the fastest car I've been in, blink of an eye and you're pulling 145 in third gear with a C63 chasing you miles behind.
dude i dont think the admins understand what the rules are now, i would upload more as i love the community here but i have to wait for at least 2 days before any of my pictures go online
@fasteppy I thank you for your concern regarding the "significance" of my shots. I should have been clearer on my definition and use of the term 'significance,' as I did not mean in any way that my photos should be regarded as inferior to those of other professional, well-practiced photographers on this site. What I intended, rather, was to imply that the confusion and lack of rules pertaining to photoshoots do not necessarily apply to my shots as much because I do not organize/conduct photoshoots. I then continued to give an example of a personal experience I had recently just to show the lack of enforcement of the rules of the site, taking a broader perspective not focusing specifically on photoshoots.
I apologize for the lack of clarity leading to the misinterpretation of my comment.
@MDPhotography88 thanks a lot man! @waddle2gracious thanks man! And yeah, that one-off spec gorgeous, and it is also getting its Stage 1 twin-turbos soon. @fasteppy Georgetown is only .3 miles from Arlington so... why not? Thanks for the compliment! @650s thanks a lot man! I want it featured too XD
@W2G: Hey, thank you for your reply. I agree with all that you've said (except for 1 thing), but then it seems that you agreed with me, so apparently we agree with each other. What I don't agree with is your remark "...(your) shots are not as significant." But they are. Don't diminish yourself on any grounds. All of us started somewhere, were beginners/amateurs. All of my local pics were taken with an iPhone5. DSLR only when on the road. You have a very high, well-earned ranking & take excellent photographs. Moreover, you are all over this site continuously commenting & contributing. You are an involved, practicing citizen, by example. Thank you. Your 2 problems, multiple illegal uploads & the photoshoot confusion (I dislike the word 'issue', it's a $.35 word for problem) can become a big deal, if they're not already. They help to destroy the zeal & enthusiasm, you used 'frustration', that's necessary ( since we all do this for fun, right?) to take & upload our spots. I shoot 50% fewer pictures for ES, & haven't uploaded any in a long time. The thrill is waning because of the anarchy, confusion, & perpetual pet sh__, I'm a big fan of alliteration. I'm surprised that I have enough enthusiasm to continue to type comments, although I know some wish I would run out of energy for that, too. Illegal posts continue unabated & mostly unpunished, & I don't know of any rules for photoshoots , that's why you don't understand them. You said the rules are vague? Can you point me in the right direction so I can see the rules? I didn't know they existed in any form. Did you see my rant under the orange Veyron Carmel Valley KING A_M? I suggested 2 divisions: Open/no rules, & rules, not unlike the ones that already exist, ENFORCED. Thanks.
@fasteppy Even though I am a beginner/amateur iPhone photographer (so the issues regarding my shots are not as significant), I honestly think the admins do not really care about much anymore. Once, I was told that I could not upload two photos (same photo, two edited versions of it. But then, the next day I literally see FOUR photos of one car (won't say the spotter's name), all posted together (not spread out over a few days or weeks). None of the photos were the same, unlike my case, but the rules of the website explicitly say, "TWO pictures max of any one car (post the best two please)." Really? 4 photos, and they were all allowed? I reported the issue to the admins, and what was done? Nothing. All four photos remained. Not a huge issue, but when the admins don't enforce the rules it does frustrate me.
I also do not understand the photoshoot issue. It seems as though the rules are very vague. The site needs two sections IMO to solve this issue: one section titled "Spots" (or similar), and another titled "Photoshoots." Mixing the two has confused me (and obviously others) upon the introduction of photoshoots to ES.
But then again, this will all be solved with the update "coming soon."
@all: Why was it announced that photoshoot spots would be regarded separately from normal in-the-wild spots without an accompanying definition, and the a wavering noncommittal variations, of what exactly a photoshoot is, for ES purposes? Did I miss that part? Please fill me in. I'm not taking a stand on whether this shot is a photoshoot, or not. It could meet some criteria, fall short on other grounds. Another example of invoking another soft rule intending to clarify things but creating a quicksand mud bath black hole of HS to argue about. Who cares? Hows about dealing with the dilenema regarding how much PS is allowed? Is photoshoot before the click & photoshop post-click? Something, eh? Enhancing, or ruining the given image? Think about it, would ya? @VM5: Under Key Bridge? K st? I find your insistence to call DC spots Arlington spots puzzling. DC is closer to DC than to VA. Photoshoot or not, really like the setting & light for this shot. Nice picture.
