Description Finally got a ride in an exotic and what aa ride it was. This car is so powerful and fast without trying, it sounds so good and is surprisingly comfortable. the guy also had a great since of human since this is a special order car he has a plaque that says brace yourself on the dashboard, and the plate is pretty funny as well
Straight-line acceleration is over rated imo and is largely irrelevant for track-focused cars such as the Viper ACR and Corvette Z06. Anything below four seconds to 60 mph is blazing fast and doesn't take any skill to do in an automatic car. But to your point, the Viper ACR is the second-fastest production car Car and Driver Magazine has ever lapped around VIR (behind the 918 Spyder). It lapped the track faster than the C7 Z06 they tested the previous year, which was equipped with the seven speed manual, so it is quicker around the track than a Z06. It will be slower in a straight line though, regardless of which transmission the Z06 has (manual Z06s can to 0-60 in about 3.3 seconds).
That's what I love about manuals. Might be slower on paper than automatics, but they feel faster due to the brief breaks in acceleration from the upshifts. You get shoved in the back of your seat every time.
