Description Found this 360 Spyder and SL55 AMG at the Shoppes at Southpark a couple months back. The Ferrari had a true six speed gated manual transmission.
I'd take that 360. Nice find Nick! It was entertaining to watch a valet guy at a fancy restaurant near me take a joyride in an SL63 and another valet guy behind him had a GranTurismo and was driving at normal speeds.
Newer DCTs (such as the F1 in the 458/488, PDK in the 911 range, and etc) are objectively much better performing than manuals. But single clutch automatics, like the transmissions in the 360, F430, Gallardo, Murcielago, and etc are not much quicker than real manuals, plus they eat up clutches at a much higher rate than I would in a manual.
I think it's just more convenient shifting. You can keep both hands on the wheel at pretty much all times. But, I must say, I have had no experience on a manual or paddle-shift car, so I don't have too much room to speak my opinion on this topic.
