You can spot the difference between a 400 and 412 by the Rims and the front direction indicators, the 400 has got orange direction indicators and the 412 has got white one's.
The rims of a 412 are flat and the 400 has got rims more like a 512BB, the 412 has got the bumpers entirely painted in the body colour. There is also , in this model range, a 365 gt4 2+2 wich has got six (smaller) taillights instead of four.
