Details on This Ferrari F12:
Location Carmel Valley, California
Description Classic Vs Modern clash: Porsche 959 and a Ferrari F12 TDF at the Quail parking lot. It was so exhausting checking each and every row for exotics and trying different angles for pictures but it all paid off.
@FanOfSuperCars: So what is your opinion on the matter? At the core of my philosophy is the fact that I can see high-res images of photo shoots and car-show parking lots. When I'm trotting through the ES landscape, I sacrifice incredible photo size and quality in hopes to see unique photos of cars in the wild. A photo like this ads more to the bulk to sift through, as well as I think it deters others from posting some blurry pic of a Z8 from 3 cars back with the edge of their mother's ear creeping into the foreground. The latter is the kind of shot that keeps me on this site.
@ointmentapyntmnt. Fair enough. I agree about the exotic cars at golf courses not being truly authentic plus it's good that you are persuading people and there's nothing wrong with that.
What I think ointmentapyntmnt is saying is that cars on golf courses don't feel like authentic spots in the wild. Which is understandable considering you don't see exotic cars parked on golf courses often.. lol. But these technically do count, as they're not part of the show its self (but as of last fall now classified as "pseudo spots", basically a non-spot that can still be uploaded) -- (Keep in mind I'm not voicing my opinion, just saying my take on what I think ointment is trying to say.)
@King AM: Gregg decides what stays, but members decide what to post. I only hope to sway people's motivation to strive for stronger spots, and vent my frustration with the current ES status quo.
@ointmentapyntmnt: I understand that it is very easy to see exotics at the parking lots during the Quail show which doesn't require any effort however they are NOT part of the show. Yes, a lot of ES members debated the legailty of these pictures in the past since they are nowhere near in the wild but Gregg classifies these photos as "Psuedo Spots". The owners paid for VIP parking which means they are the closeset to the show and don't have to walk far.
Also, I get your point that seeing these cars on the streets would be a lot better in terms of the rules, but Gregg decides what stays on the site and what gets removed.
This shot is like a rest-stop toilet: It contains a unique variety specimens which are rare outside of this unique environment. If you had spent one hour on the side of Carmel Valley Road, you would have seen dozens of equally impressive cars and combos drive by, yielding slightly less unimpressive spots. This shot shows some incredible cars, but it represents laziness and a lack of creativity. Would it be so bad if the rules on this site were expanded to ban any pictures of cars on golf courses?
