Description This is the first ever GT40 delivered in the UK (March 1966, Chassis no. 1034), parked up at my late father-in-law's father's car repair business (T. S. Lawrance in Gloucester) who knew James Fielding - the original owner of this car. (The GT40 was not in for repair btw!)
Found this on a slide while reminiscing, as it is my late father-in-law's birthday today. He loved cars and owned several exotic classics in his time, RIP Paul Lawrance, we miss you.
Fantastic car, went on to race around the world.
What an amazing photo from way back! OIART and I recently saw one of the original 6 prototype cars, 2 amazing recreations, and another original undergoing a second restoration all at one shop. We got to see many original pieces of the car in several bins waiting for prep work. Those cars are amazing!
Yes, it was really spotted in 1969 - couldn't post it then though, neither I nor the modern day internet was born :-)
Found it on a slide from my late father-in-law that has been stashed away for decades. The slides were all date stamped. Hoping for some more gems like this to be found yet as I go through them!
