In comparison to other hypercars, no they're not super rare. However when you consider the fact that most average every day cars sell 100 times that in a year, it seems a lot less common.
They're more common than the P1, LaFerrari, etc but they also cost less and Porsche is more about money than Ferrari and McLaren are. If you live in LA, Miami, London or somewhere like that you might see them semi often but nowhere else has that many of them. There are two that I know of in NC, one of which is basically never driven.
I saw about 15 in my two days at car week. They seemed pretty rare to me before, but now... not so much lol.
I've only ever seen one 918, and that one 918 is the only "hybrid hypercar" I've ever seen lol. There's a possibility of a Weissach 918 somewhere in Boston, but we'll have to see...
