How is it an old, worn out, Italian made piece of junk? It's not even close to a piece of junk.

Just curious, why no F-Type? They are expensive, even the base V6 cost as much as a used Continental, GranT, or new Evora. They are fast, sound amazing, look amazing, are as rare as many other cars deemed "exotic", and it seems appropriate if the E-Type is exotic. Not looking to start an argument, just curious to see everyones reasoning here.

Continental's shouldn't be on here.

Why would they take off the Maserati Granturismo catagory?

they are expensive, but a car that is that price and is still in production isn't considered expensive enough. and even if a car depreciates a lot, who cares! it wont make more magically appear out of thin air. there is a bmw 840 ci category and that is <$10,000.

Why should there be an F-Type Category? By your logic, anything over $70,000 is exotic. The Range Rover V8 is fast, looks good, and not super common (in most places), yet that isn't exotic. Same with things like the S600, 760li, A8 W12. Those are all fast, rare, and expensive, yet not exotic. The F-Type is also becoming more and more common. It's only been out for about a year, meaning it still hasn't had the chance to sell in large numbers. It also doesn't matter how much it costs compared to a used car. A Kia Cadenza costs more than some used Ferraris, but is it exotic? No.

Everyone needs to get this point into their heads. The F-Type is not exotic and will never again be allowed on this site. The only time I could ever see it being possible for an F-Type to be posted is if they made a R-S model that was a limited edition. Save that, it is not exotic enough for this website.

Also, on a side note, I have no issue with the Continental, GranTurismo, or Evora being on here, as those are properly exotic. They may be on the more common end of the scale, but they are still exotic.

Fine the Mercedes SL63/SL65 would blow the GranTurismo out of the water. And the reason why the M6s depreciate just as fast is because they have more miles on them. If you bought a new GT for say 120k and drove it 10k miles and sold it, it would probably be worth about 85-90k. If you bought a new M6 for 120 and drove it for 10k miles you'd probably get about 100-105k. Way less depreciation. And it also has to do with what year the car came out in, so if you bought the last generation m6 in late production and the newer model came out, depreciation would be boosted because the new model just came out and no one wants a lightly used previous generation when they can get a new generation for a few thousand dollars more

But we sold it in 2011 before the new one came out.

Or just, you know, provide some kind of decent reason. I've never heard anyone complain about the GranTurismo from an owner's point of view or an enthusiast's. It's beautiful, sounds phenomenal and is a very livable car. I haven't heard too many knocks on it.

Yes, but they're also 6 years old and with that have old equipment, therefore 130k is WAYYYY too much for a car like that. And it depreciates WAY fast. You can pick up a 4 year old car for $30-50k off list. For 130k theres better deals out there for the money, such as the E63 which is faster and sounds just as good AND has a V8, the BMW M6/M6 Gran Coupe which is still faster, just as fun because its RWD, but it doesnt sound as good, and thanks to these actually being cheaper, you can load them up with options and have way newer and better equipment than the GranTurismo. And both are handmade in GERMANY.

Who really cares if something else is faster. 180 mph is plenty fast for me. Anyone that chose to buy a GranTurismo could have also bought a boring M6 but they chose to have something that looks much more special and sounds much better. Pointless gadgets are just for people to have something to brag about. On paper a E92 M3 looks like a better car than the GranTurismo, has more techy junk on it, and costs half as much; but the GranTurismo is twice the car and then some! Veyrons depreciate like crazy too so does that make them not exotic? Also how on earth could someone say a E63 sounds just as good as a GT? That one just makes no sense.
