Personally, I don't think any Jag being produced currently (maybe with an exception to the xkr-s) is exotic. So no, I don't think it should have its own category.

Why should a 911 be listed as a exotic, and not a F Type.

The F Type wont be built in anything like the same numbers as the 911 + it's similar price, pedigree (Jaguar is a prestige brand) and most car magazines will compare the F Type with the 911 or Aston. At least the V8 should be on here.

If people think M5's Nissan GT-R,Telsa's and Maserati's are exotic then the F Type is for sure, well at least the V8S

The base 911 isn't exotic if you ask me.

I find it funny that when this very question was asked a month ago (multiple times), everyone said no. Now people are saying yes. Why? This is making no sense. The F-Type isn't exotic. And for the examples provided as to why it should be, the GT-R is very fast, the M5 is decently rare and only the F10 and E60 are considered to be exotic on here, most people don't care about the Model S, the base 911 doesn't tend to be considered exotic, the V8 Vantage is still rare and more expensive than an F-Type, and the Maserati's are also more rare and expensive than the F-Type.

So, in short, no it is not exotic enough. And providing a category for it will get the people that post the base or cheapest F-Type out there, similar to when people post the E39 M5s or a base Carrera 997 911. Already now we're seeing quite a few being posted, and the car isn't even in full production. This car will turn out to be like the Model S. Exotic at first, but after a short time everyone is going to hate seeing them.

The problem with having a Jaguar F Type category is that there are different models. There are only minimal exterior differences between them. The only model considered as exotic is the supercharged V8 F Type-S.

base F Type: 340 hp, 0-60mph 5.1 sec, $69k

F Type-S: 380 hp, 0-60mph 4.8 sec, $81k

F Type-S supercharged V8: 495hp, 0-60mph 4.2 sec, $92k

I'm guessing that's why the Admins don't want an F Type category. I should know. I've spotted an F Type-S V8 and they quickly deleted it.

I guess really it depends what is Exotic

Production numbers? Who know what the F Types will be, but they will be far less than the 911 I think.

Price? Well the V8S is in M5/911/Vantage territory. Also within reach of the Maserati GranTurismo and QuattroPorte.

Heritage? Jaguar are a established and respected make, in short they are a good pedigree.

Sporty & Luxury ? Well the V8S I would say fits both of these with more power than the Vantage V8, 911 Maserati and 911.

Is it a classic ? Ok I may not be a E Type classic, but is the Vantage or 911?

So if a Vantage and 911 are Exotic and a M5, then why not at least the V8S? I see no boxes these other cars tick that the F Type does not.

The 911 is like the definition of a classic sports car.

I don't know why you keep comparing this car to the Maseratis and the AM Vantage.

Price: V8S (most expensive trim available) starts at 92k. Vantage and both Maseratis both start at 130k (least expensive trims available).

The Vantage and Granturismo/Quattroporte both come from companies that strictly produce exotic cars. There is a certain prestige that goes along with owning an Aston Martin or a Maserati. You own a jag? Cool, so does my 80 year old grandma who is a retired secretary who lives in a lower middle class apartment in west bumblefuck.

I'd say yes, but only the higher end V8 ones. That said my dad has a Jag so I'm biased towards them.
