If you were to spend roughly $25-50k on a project car, what would you get out of these options?

I'd have to go with a Ferrari 308 or 328.

Pantera. Buying a project car Ferrari is a very very bad idea. You could easily spend $100,000+ fixing up a Testarossa and at the end of the day it is still worth $50,000.

And the Testarossa is by far the most expensive car on there so I don't know why it says very cheap next to it.

I've seen Testarossa projects go for under $20k, so if one was to find one go for about that, it wouldn't take that much. Salvage Titles are also reverentially cheap with the Testarossa.

I picked a DeLorean, because they have so many spare parts for them, you can find a project one for about 8 grand, at the most. When John Delorean got bustted for smoggiling coke in the country, he left so many part for the delorean. that is my explantion to get a delorean project car.

A $20,000 Testarossa is nothing but a money pit. A cheap Ferrrari may look appealing on paper but when you start adding it up, it gets a bit scary. New paint job $10,000, new interior $10,000, new fog lights for a 328 $7,000+, and if the belts broke then you are looking at a $30,000 re-build. With Ferraris it is cheaper to go buy a decent one than to buy a bad one and try to make it decent. A Pantera might be hard to find parts for but mechanically it should be cheap and easy to fix.

I understand that, and that's why I'd go for the Pantera. American Engine, lots of parts, and IMO, it's the best looking. When I was talking about the Testarossa, I meant if you were to do it, you'd be hard pressed to use under $50k. They are after all one of the hardest Ferraris to work with.

A family friend has just restored a Pantera GTS and it is very expensive (140k $) becauese the parts are difficult find.
You can buy a 25k $ Testarossa but you have to add 60-80k $ for restoration while the sell price is around 50-60k $...

Haha, we're actually doing one of these things. Our Merak's engine is being rebuilt and the bodywork may be worked on as well :)

Isn't the GTS very rare? I thought they only made it in 1974 for the US market only.

Anyways, if I were to do one, i'd want to either do a 308 or DeLorean. I hate the cheese graters on the Testarossa, and the Merak is a V6. The timeless look of the 308 is just amazing, and it'd be kinda cool if you had a 400+ HP DeLorean :P.
