Rich people don't really care about the price of gas. And thus, probably aren't all that interested in electric cars. They become hot sellers at first because you're in the "In crowd" if you're seen driving one. But the novelty wears off soon and you want a car with more power/prestige. But that's just my opinion.

Anyways, I kind'a liked the Karma's styling.

Not the least bit surprised but I personally would've bought one to drive longer distances with.

Not really shocking since they filed for bankruptcy months ago back in April. Never was a huge fan of their work. Mix of bad luck/management led to this. Oh well, Tesla ftw.

The only reason it ended, was because the Tesla model S, was a better electric car for the money, I would rather have a high end model S than a fisher any day of the week, but still sad it is gone.

I've only seen four (although two of them were on the same road on the same day), but I always go absolutely berzerk when I see one.

The only things the Karma really had going for it was its styling and the novelty of being a partially electric car. And sometimes, the electric car part didn't do it any help either. With battery fires, very low electric only range, and later the difficulty of acquiring new batteries, the electric part become more of a curse than a blessing. The car was also very overpriced for what you were getting. While it did ride pretty well and the engine was quiet (I rode in one earlier in the year), it wasn't all that fast, weighed a ton, and was really not a very spacious car. Plus, you didn't even get a navigation system on the base model that cost something like $85,000.

So, in short, I won't really miss them. They were just a somewhat doomed to fail attempt at a technology I can't really stand behind. They did make a pretty car though.

It's a shame they weren't able to make any new models. I got to see the Surf concept, which was basically a Karma shooting brake, a while back. It was pretty cool. I have pics but I can't find them.
