My dad was test driving it since the dealer invited us to test it because it is supposed to be like a new Ghibli, the others we have been looking at to purchase at a later date.
(I'd posted the following review elsewhere, hence why I have it)
Overall, I am not impressed. It is a good car, don't get me wrong. The ride is nice. The seats are nice, but a tad hard. The interior was not as bad as everyone says, but the plastic that was in it did feel a bit cheap. The twin turbo V6 provides it with good power, and supposedly it handles well (I only have my dad's word on that). The navigation also is by Garmin, but the infotainment system is rather poor and slow.
However, it lacks that feeling of a Maserati. There is nothing special about it. The engine note is really not exciting or dramatic like old one's V8. There is nothing to distinguish it from any other car out there. On Top Gear, they said that they'd have the old one despite it's issues. I don't even think I'd have the new one without the issues.
There is nothing with this car that makes me say "I'd take this over an A8/7 Series/S Class in a heartbeat." It's just another sedan. In an attempt to make a better car, Maserati lost the one thing that made them better than everyone else.
