I drove an E30 and didn't find it exciting at all. 308s and 328s are like big go-karts and sound awesome.

The looks of the Veyron may be subjective but to discount it completely is downright ignorant. The insane amounts of engineering behind it and build quality of the car are beyond belief and no other car today comes close to it in those ways. Also remember that the Veyron was released 10 years ago. It set the standard for supercars and will undeniably go down as a legend.

Cars that are overrated IMO:
250 GTO (not that good looking, relatively not that rare, and not really that successful in racing either)
GTR. It may be fast but it looks like a normal Nissan and the people that like it are often delusional.
Hennessey Venom. Anyone can make anything go fast with enough power. It is based on a Lotus so they could cheat all of the safety regulations and is pretty much a death trap.
Aston Martin DB AR1. It looks good but is pretty much horrible in every way.
E30 M3. (I know I will receive hate for this one)

Cars that are underrated IMO:
Ferrari 308/328. Almost nothing is more fun to drive than those.
Lamborghini LM002

I love the DB AR1 but agree fully on the E30 M3. They're boring, sound like a normal car, and don't even look good at all but for some unknown reason tons of people like them.

Lol for once I agree with you. I used to love the DB AR1 but I was extremely disappointed after driving one. It was horrible.

Also the Supra. Why do people like the supras so much? They look terrible IMO and they're everywhere.

And the RS series Audis.

I like RS cars, but the RS5 is a pig. It's too front heavy to be able to compete effectively with M4's and C63's, and they don't offer a manual.

The Supra though....no. The turbo models could keep up with several Porsches at the time, and I rarely EVER see them, even in fairly car-enthusiast rich areas in NC.

I feel like that describes most of the mid-engined V8 Ferraris before 360. The 348 is the same way.

@ Andrewo:

Just food for thought, but a lot of people on this site can't drive, including me,(sadly), so we really don't know what cars are fun to drive or what cars are slouchy in every way possible.

Also, a little off topic, but would a WRX STI be a good first car?

They're fairly reliable and easy to tune. I don't really like the sound of the boxer though. If you're willing to drive a manual it would be a good car, but they are pretty quick and your insurance will probably be very high.

I mean, I'll be driving in 4 years, so I shouldn't be thinking 'bout it now... but I really want to drive! Plus I Love the sound of a good 'ol boxer, so there you go. I will take not of that insurance thing though...

GT-R.

All I ever hear is 14 year olds going on about how a GT-R can beat whatever car and it's so annoying. It's fast, but it's more of a computer than a real car. And it doesn't even look that good.

Hennessey Venom GT.
Yeah, it's also fast, but it's ugly. It can do what the Veyron has been doing for the last while and it seems they have just copy and pasted a bunch of Lotus parts. I don't see what all the hype about it is.

I agree with that one too. The Aventador is a great car, but the Murcielago looks better, sounds better, and in my opinion is just better. Everyone likes the Aventador just because it's fast and it's a Lamborghini.

I couldn't agree more. The Aventador is way overdone and inferior to the Murcielago in nearly every way.

I think he should be un-banned. It's been almost a year already.
