But (to me) it just looks bad anyway. If I designed the car, I would have taken advantage of the fact that it doesn't exactly need any air intake and not have a front grille at all just to be different than all the other cars.

No one can have the Model X yet. Not even one has been delivered yet, and there is only two street legal ones currently, one for car shows and one in Fremont for testing. Still the Model X looks better in person, yet personally the rear doors are a little too long. Even if it is a raised Model S, it only goes up 2 inches and cannot exceed 8 mph in "very high" mode.
Source: knows Tesla very well and knows a couple "secrets" about the future models/variations.

Yes. 8mph. At over 8mph it goes down to "high" then to "standard." It isn't that significant, but it helps the door clear the curb or lowering the car to clean the roof.

oh no. it's supposedly limited at 130 but I've know of it going to 135. Without limiter it most likely could reach 180.
