This is a question that I have been wondering for years. Why are TVRs so special in Britain, and why are they featured? They seem like they are very cheap cars. In fact, Richard Hammond bought a used TVR convertible for 3,000 pounds. Can someone explain this to me?

I don't really know anything about TVRs, and I've never seen one, but I feel like Sagarises are exotic, kinda like Vipers. I don't think any should be featured, at least if Vipers aren't. Other than the Sagaris, yeah, they don't seem very exotic to me.

Any sports car that is manufactured in the UK, tends to be somewhat very special to Britain. E-Types and MG's are very special, and there are many owners clubs across the UK. Just because a car is cheap, doesn't make it entirely less exotic. The E-Type cost half of what the cheapest Ferrari was. Hell, it was half the price of a Lancia Fulvia, a 1.3 litre Front wheel drive coupe. You'd think that because of those specs, it would be as exotic as a Kia Rio.

TVR was a company that made exotic car performance, cheaply, through use of fibreglass moulds. Ginetta does the same thing, Noble, Radical, Westfield, all do this. I have a very soft spot for TVR's, they've been since i was a child, the best car manufacturer ever.

The Sagaris is definitely the most Exotic of their cars, if you saw one driving passed you, i reckon 98% of everyone on the site, would do literally anything to get a photo of it. I know i would, and i've seen two already this year!

I don't think they are so special, the factory in Blackpool was a dump, that quality was far from great, chassis were prone to rot, body shells did not have that issue buy also had other problems.

The only redeeming factors was the power, looks and noise, and they were rare. However some were questionable in the looks and power delivery, but all sounded good. They were typically unsafe, badly built, but looked and sounded the part, often with donor bits from many cars, really they were slightly one up from kit cars. I think you either got a reliable one, or it was a money pit. They were just as likely to put a smile on your face as kill you.

I am not a huge fan but still like the Tuscan and Sagaris the rest are not nice, but I see the appeal and craziness of the raw drive. Why many models are considered exotic is a mystery to me, I would not even take a photo of most as they are dated. But I do recall going in a 450 SEAC as a teen when they were new, and I thought it was the best thing ever.

TVR is one of the most exotic and insane car manufacturers in my opinion. The lack of safety equipment, the brilliant power, the sense of fear as soon as you step inside one, It's just magnificent. People who love TVR as a brand are true enthusiasts. These machines are just as much driver's cars are Ginettas and Nobles.
