I just bought the Ferrari 5 pack. The quality on the F40 makes me mad. The back cover opens, but there are serious gaps, and the wing is bent down in the center. The blue Scud has a gouge in the windshield. I honestly only bought it because of the Ferrari/Mattel license expiring.

I've got the same 5 pack and there are no problems to report except the gaps you were talking about. So yeah.

Look on the windshield. You can see the gouge. I also bought a C7 corvette, but there is a piece of metal that wasnt cut off in the wheel well so the front right tire doesnt move at all.

Yeah, but in 5-5pack, my Scud has no gouge in the windshield

Hotwheels needs to step up their quality control

Tell that to My 7 or 8 DeLorean collection. I came across the Gold one from 2010 and the rear pillars are bent, IN THE BLOODY PACKAGE STILL!!!

I have 4 Deloreans (2 BTTF, a black one, and a silver one) All are perfect except on the silver one, the rear hatch is a b*tch to open.

Im thinking about starting up a 1:64 Hot Wheels collection, any tips on places to buy or which cars to buy. Im only looking for modern supercars and don't want to spend much. Any help would be great thanks!!

I only purchase the realistic cars / exotics. Saves a lot of money. Check amazon. People may have one car listed but have many others they are willing to sell for a great price.

Amazon? HA. Those people want ridiculous prices for something i can go to the dollar store and get for a buck 25. The only time id ever buy a hotwheel off amazon is if i were really desperate. Even if you think you cant find what your looking for in a store, one will turn up eventually. Like, i was convinced i was never gonna find a Veneno anywhere, and sure enough, i found a red one at Walmart, I didn't buy it (which i really regret) but, at least ive found one in stores.

Your probably right. Amazon can sometimes be pricey. Ive gotten lucky every time ive bought one there.

New permanent addition! 1/43s are still so much cooler in my opinion. I just wish I could have gotten a different base for it. I have a LookSmart R8 GT (#10/30) and it comes on an Alcantara base, but the Diablo didn't have that option so it's just cheap plastic. It would really add to the model like it does with the R8.

Great model, Jon. I haven't really had a opportunity or chance to invest in 1/43s myself. Only two I have are the Cayenne TranSyberia Edition and Impreza WRX STI WRC by Minichamps and AutoArt respectively.
I would love to see some more from your collection!

Just wondering, how much were they and where did you get them?
