So, the new guy. 1/43 LookSmart Gallardo LP550-2 Balboni in Grigio Antares signed by Balboni himself. The spec of this car is unbelievably gorgeous and of course LookSmart quality is tops. I imagine this model would go for probably close to $150 on its own, but the signature just catapults it to a new level. I know Balboni gets around a lot and signs a lot of things, but probably very rarely diecast models like this, let alone one already limited to 25 pieces. Somehow this is my first Gallardo.

However, there is one glaring mistake with this model, though it cannot be seen in this picture nor how I have it displayed.

Balboni signed my Domo hat a few years back.

What was the mistake?

That's awesome. Would the mistake actually increase the value of it, like with Hot Wheels, or would it not? Also what is it?

Balboni's gonna be at some events in my area on the 28th and 29th, but I'm not sure if I can go. Don't really know what I have for him to sign either.

Just bring a roll of white Duct tape. That way he can sign a piece of tape and you can stick it on your wall or something.

Right, so here's the thing. You know how cars like the 288 GTO and Sesto Elemento have the exposed transmission under the backside of the car? Well for some reason, this model has that. It's not like a piece is missing that is supposed to cover that, they literally attached the new piece to the bottom side of the diffuser. At least I can only imagine that's what it is. It doesn't seem like it's a production error or anything, especially with models produced in such small numbers. But I have it displayed facing forward so I'm hoping "out of sight, out of mind" will come into play and I'll just forget about it.

That sounds like my AutoArt Balboni Gallardo (at least I think it's the Balboni...), which has three pedals, yet there is no stick in the cabin. I'd just have to say it gives the model more character lol, even if it's not quite correct.

I never take my 1/43 models out of the case but did just for this picture. I just have no idea why that's there.

Lol wow, I'm not sure how they could have accidentally stuck something like that on there and not noticed it. Is it integrated with the rest of the model or is it just put on like an afterthought?

Nope it's pretty much just randomly stuck on there. The diffuser into the the bottom of the car is completely smooth except that is just jutting out. I really have no explanation for it.
