I have noticed two sets of rules on this website listed below Set One & Two . Please can a "Admin" confirm the official rules , rather than users dispute which are rules, or what they should be.

This post is meant for a Admin to clarify the rules not users to debate them, or users to speculate. Maybe an Admin delete or update the set of rules that is wrong or does not match the other set, or add a link at the bottom of the web page with a link to the rules.

Set One

• QUALITY is important, our community FLAGS and DELETES poor pictures! Please read on...
• NO CLOSEUPS of wheels, badges, gauge pods--we want to see the whole car.
• REAL WORLD only, we want to see cars in the wild: NO car shows, racetracks, driveways, dealerships--what's the fun in that?
• MIND THE QUALITY, if it's blurry, or a far away shot, or from a poor cell phone camera, who's really going to want to see it anyway?
• FULL DESCRIPTIONS will ensure your pictures get on the site and stay on the site.

Set Two

Many of you have questions as to what constitutes a true spotting, so here is our official stance:

True Spottings:

• Photo must be taken on public roads, highways, or parking spots, and
• Photographer must have no prior knowledge that the vehicle would be in that location.

Not True Spottings:
• Photos from Car Shows (including parking lot of car shows)
• Photos from Car Club Meetings
• Photos from the start or end of a Car Rally (Gumball 3000)
• Photos at or near an Exotic Car Dealership
• Photos taken in private garage or shop
• Photos of friend's or neighbor's cars
• Photos from a photo shoot
• Photos taken in known locations where exotics are always parked (certain hotels, in front of certain stores, etc)

NOTE: If a photo looks suspicious, you need to provide a detailed description of how you spotted the car. If you provide no details, the photo will not qualify as a true spotting.

Why does this matter so much to YOU? People disregard the rules for cool shots, probably some you have liked, maybe even favorited so stop trying to inform everyone of the rules they already know!

Why do you care if someone wants clarification on the rules? The rules should be clear, not two different rules. I am not informing anyone of the rules and this is the question for the admins, not you.

Well one set of rules says driveways are not legit the other do not mention this, same with family cars. This is simply why I ask for clarification from the Admins.

First "set" of rules are from the upload page.

The second one is from This Blog Post (correct?), and is NOT a set of rules. It is an attempt to explain, what the
TRUE spot is.

It should be pretty obvious for everyone, that it is impossible to write a set
of rules for ES with mathematical precision. Sometime we allow for NOT-REALLY-TRUE
spot to be published, sometime we remove TRUE spots because they are not cool enough
and so on. That is why we have moderators (many thanks to them) to look and decide.

PS: when you ask for clarification, please don't post long texts (post links to them), but post concrete _questions_.

Now I don't think that's highly fair. "sometimes we remove TRUE spots because they are not cool enough" really? Just because it's not cool enough for you, doesn't mean it wasn't amazing for them. Did you NOT take that into consideration? People have their own opinions, THATS why there is so many issues on this site.

Yes, people are different. Surprise?!
They are always disagree. Just look around you.

After all, someone controls this site and someone doesn't.
Our rules are pretty simple.
There are basic guidelines for obvious situations. All the
complex situations are handled manually.
It is fair ENOUGH and it works.

But hat doesn't Make it right to just get rid of someone's spot JUST because you don't think its cool enough. It's just rude.

No, it doesn't work. There are Tesla Model S categories, and stuff like that, and when a new person uploads it, and it gets deleted, they would have no idea why. Then they come to the forum, ask why, and get criticism for it. What else are they supposed to do? It's not like the mods are labeled or anything. It's basically like you gave up the entire site to the mods.

Jason is right. I tried to upload a Model S and it gets deleted for no reason. If you're going to make a category for something, it is obviously site worthy, so let it stay on the site.

I guess you people don't realize that the Model S is common almost EVERYWHERE?! Nobody wants to see them uploaded... which is why they average about 2-3 likes.

Exactly. Tesla Model S's are NOT exotic at all. They're still nice cars, but NOT EVEN worth being exotic.

In a month, I see about 6! How do you see ten in a day! They have sold really badly in Columbus.
