This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my entire life.

Sounds like the beginning of a police state to me :S

The thing that really frustrates me is that literally EVERYONE has a camera with them at all times (i.e. their phones), but the only people who are prohibited from taking pictures in this case are the ones who invest in nicer equipment, which defeats the whole purpose of buying nicer stuff in the first place.

A bit more information to help with this topic:
http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/supercar-drivers-we-come-to-london-to-spend-money-but-were-being-treated-like-criminals-a3292481.html

I'd also like to quote what was said on this article.

"The supercars are often mobbed by youngsters with camera phones and older car enthusiasts, but a police order banning two carspotters from Knightsbridge for 48 hours recently surfaced on social media. The dispersal order cites the reason as: “Seen taking photographs of supercars therefore attracting anti-social behaviour from motor vehicles.”

Andrew Thompson, a barrister who specialises in road traffic law, told the Standard: “This appears to be a shameful abuse of police powers. “The restriction of an individual’s freedom of movement as a consequence of taking photographs is probably unlawful, unconstitutional and unenforceable.”

If you're not being dumb when carspotting in London, i.e. running in front of traffic with your iPhone to photograph that same Aventador you spotted 12 times before that day, or shouting at car drivers to 'rev' their car, i think you'll be ok. Use common sense!

I hate this because obviously spotters don't deserve a fine for just taking pictures. BUT, this type of horrible policing on London's part could convince foreigners to bring more of their cars to LA. Sounds greedy because it is.

I feel like this video pretty much sums up what the police are trying to prevent in London.

And that's why carspotters have been given a bad name. I'm ashamed that it's got to this point where people cannot drive forward as these idiots are jumping in the road to get photographs of their supercars. Seriously, i think that we should introduce a 'J-Walking' law like you guys in the states have, or at least have it London-wide. As a driver, i've had many times where i've had people walk in front of me, inches from me running them over. If i had a supercar of any sort, i'd avoid London like the plague.

I just came back from 5 days in London, and I didn't really notice anything. One evening there was some more police outside than usual, but all they did was pull over some supercars because they were making too much noise or something.
The only time I saw police officers interact with spotters was when they told some spotters to get off the road, which is perfectly understandable. Tbh I think this ban is either made up by some spotters, or it was just a single cop who was having a bad day or something.

From what I understand, it's only banned to the spotters who block traffic in the middle of the road, not the sensible ones who spot from the sidewalk. If it's only the stupid spotters who stand in the middle of the road, then I agree. However, if it's all the spotters, even the ones on the sidewalk, then I disagree. Hopefully this will create order after a while and get all the spotters blocking the street to stop, therefore creating order when all the spotters are restricted to the sidewalk. I'm going to London for a week next year, and hopefully when I stick to the sidewalk and don't block traffic, I'll be fine.

I agree if it's only banned to spotters like this

Hopefully it's only spotters like this

There was a guy like that to I think the same Veyron in one of Effspots latest videos with those loud girls. The guy was basically sitting on the ground in front of the Veyron for ages.
