I always wonderred, how do you get that effect with the lights?
Some lenses tend to do it more or 'better', but it comes from using small aperture (big F number).
I was using a fixed 35mm, i was on F4.5

Maybe my lens just cant do that then.
So far i think i've only seen Danny and Cromok get the flares like that on purpose (one of cromok's; http://www.exoticspotter.com/mercedes-sls-amg-the-pavilion-bukit-bintang-kuala-lumpur-malaysi-56088) but last year it just randomly happenned when i was taking a photos of a Mercedes on my phone and i've been trying ever since (hasn't worked yet).

Yeah I think primes are good for it. And you can have them with any aperture I guess, but generally big aperture is the key, if you want some big ones at night.
