I honestly think no. It is an organized event, and they provide a map on their site on where all of the cars are going to be, so it is not a random street spot whatsoever even though it is on public roads

Yes, as long as it isn't at one of the destination spots. The routes taken in between the destinations are up to the drivers as far as I know making it completely random.

It's still a rally though, and they do not make routes on their own as far as I know

This is kind of a tough one. I posted a few from last year but I can see both sides of the argument. If you guys decide no then I will also remove mine.

I think it should count as a legit spot if its inbetween two legs of the trip as they can choose whatever route they want plus they make interesting spots

I'm sorry Jason but if you saw a car in it you definitely would post it.

i think if you see the car randomly then its fine
but if you see the convoy and start uploading every car then no
i think too many lie about where/how they see them

I wouldn't post it. I have shots of cars from the Nutmeg Tour for Autisim in Westport, except I am not going to upload them. The only shot I have from there that I posted was a Mercedes-Benz S55 //AMG that was parked at the hospital where the tour begun because it belonged to some doctor who worked there. So yeah, I would take pictures, but only post it on Flickr

Exactly. I see way too many people posting photos from the destination spots

Still, if the shots are obviously taken on the highway somewhere or at a gas station along the way and it can be proven that the shot was taken there based on the background, why shouldn't that be legal?

Because the cars are still participating in a rally.

But it's random... what is a rally? A group of guys getting together for a ride. This one is slightly more high profile and requires payment to cover hotel costs and a few other things for organization. If someone else was going on a roadtrip with 5 friends and they were bringing along their exotic cars technically that is a rally as well. Let's say they kept a blog and said that they were going to be going to Toronto and you're driving on the highway in NY state (remember, there are probably thousands of different turns and roads that they can travel down to reach Toronto) and you see 5 exotics drive by, is it illegal to spot that group of guys in exotics going on a roadtrip?

*facepalm*

The Gunball Rally is different. Every car is labeled "GUMBALL RALLY 3000", I highly doubt the owners of the cars know each other, and at every destination point, there is a huge crowd of people waiting for them, so yeah, it's a car show/rally basically. Now with the 5 friends scenario, that would count because it's just a group of friends driving across the country, and it's not really an organized event, while the Gunball Rally is

Now that I think about it, the 5 friends thing is illegal because they made a blog about where they are going to be, so it would not count as a random street spot
