Now that I think about it, the 5 friends thing is illegal because they made a blog about where they are going to be, so it would not count as a random street spot

Yeah, they post the destination but they don't post the route they take. Nobody knows the route they are going to take. They don't even know the route that they're going to take. The GPS system they use (if it takes into account for traffic etc) doesn't even know the route they are going to take beforehand. I'm totally with you that destination spots are illegal because, like you said, they are announced. The routes in between, however, are not.

But either way, it is still an organized rally, which doesn't count. You know the cars are going to be in that town, and it is still a rally that is going on, so you know that the cars are somewhere in the area. The rally for Lamborghini's 50th Anniversary is the same thing, only that's illegal, so why should Gumball shots be legal?

EDIT: Also, the destination points are like shows, and the cars are headed to the destination points, so that is completely illegal if they are headed to a show, because the destination points are basically Gumball shows.

Just because you know exotic cars are going to be in a town, it's not legit? That makes every spot from Greenwich illegitimate lol. Besides, how do you know the rally members are going to be going through a certain town? You don't. There are hundreds of different routes they could take and therefore hundreds of different towns that they can go through.

edit: Last I checked, if you photograph a car that's going to a meet, it is legitimate as long as it is still a random find. If you photograph a car that's about to turn into the lot of the meet then it is illegitimate.

Andrew told me it was not legitimate if it is a show car when I asked if it was okay if I show up two hours before the Greenwich Concours starts, and I find a car headed there and posted it, so that makes Gumball shots illegal. There's our conclusion right there

There's a big difference between photographing a car 50 miles away from its destination and photographing a car that's going to be entering a show after making 1 or 2 turns. If you stand 2-3 blocks away from the Gumball destination, I agree, it isn't legit.

But still, it is headed to a show, so that does not make the spot legit.

Common sense needs to be taken into account here as well.

What I said earlier, 50 miles away from a destination which is a meet is very different than 2-3 blocks from a meet.

I know, but it was still on its way to a show, or in this case, a meet
