honestly i love being apart of the community here but i would change somethings so 6/10

its mostly to do with the uploads, the non exotics that get posted annoy me
their are categories that shouldnt be on here like the M5 you can tell me its exotic all you want but its a boring car no one comes here to see boring cars
some people thing they above the rules and dont get any punishment for what they do (flooding the site, posting non exotics)

also the PNG images being converted to JPEGS sucks the quality difference is huge

i dont know how to fix the quality issue, i guess they wont be letting us use png again so i dunno

but i think for people who bulk upload - a upload limit is needed
for people who upload non exotics after being told many times, need all their uploads checked before they go live and the person checking them to be strict with them until he uploads cars that belong

sections need removing

MORE mods to control the cr*ppy uploads (quality, really far away, car cut off etc) just delete them ... be strict

issue punishments temporary bans, upload checks etc

I've subscribed to the topic. Good points and solid arguments are welcome, as always.

"5/10 -I'd change a lot of things." from me.

We will change a lot of things. We are changing them. Yes, somewhat slow.

Forum is active. Moderation has been started and works really good (ohh many people don't like it!). Community rating is going to be introduced rather soon (really soon).
The work on site layout change has been started to make things look better and
be more friendly for both desktop/mobile users, to allow wider images for big displays.

I would give it a 9/10.

I've been on here since the new website was made and have loved it since.

I agree that PNG would be great to have back.
Danny, I like your idea about non-exotic uploaders having to get their pictures checked before getting posted, but I think temporary bans would anger the banned users and cause them to be even worse when they come back.

Another thing that is not a big deal but still concerns me a little is the average likes stat that might come. I think it would be unfair to users who had photos uploaded when the star ratings switched to likes/dislikes, because those photos only have a few likes and would bring down the average drastically.

Another fun idea to get users more into the site would be a weekly spot competition. People could vote for their favorite photo of the week and that would be shared in the email along with the editor's choice.

I'd like this thing of the new layout (I am asking a new layout from last year) and also the mobile site (GREAT NEWS!) I've noted that there are less non-exotics post in the Other category (probabily thanks to secret moderators) But I think we have a lot of wotk to do yet. ES.com IMO has got a very big potential but we are using the 10-20% of it. For example AutoGespot has terrible moderators and terrible spots but it is world-wide know, also here in Italy everybody know AG while they don't know ES.

I would give it a 7.5/10 right now.

I've always loved this website but there's a few things lacking right now. I liked the .PNG uploading for the better quality. I think i may have a way to have that fixed if there is anyone working for the site that knows how. We should get a lightbox program put into the site. That way each photo can open up in it's true resolution when clicked in the lightbox. I'll use another member's website as an example. Take a look at Jameson's website here and click one of his photos; http://www.jamesonapodacaphotography.com/

I was also one of the people who was waiting for the addition of more moderators to the site, excited for it to happen. But now that it's starting, truthfully, i think it's causing more arguements. No offence to anyone but that's just my opinion.

And why did you close the comments box on the Gallardo photo? I liked using that photo to talk to people on.

And a lot of new categories have been added but can you please add a few Jaguar categories though. We need ones for the D-Type, C-Type, XK-140, XK-120, and the F-Type.

The forum is for personalised chatting though. I liked that the Gallardo was for general, not topic specific, chatting.

And i disagree with the consensus on those two forum posts but okay. I guess they dont need one. But the others do need their own categories.

I love the fact that there are all these categories and options for cars to choose from, so you can go and see a specific car you want, such as a Pagani Zonda, and see if any have been spotted where you live.

Unfortunately though, I have a problem with A) The conversion from .png to .jpeg and B) The community.

The conversion from .png to .jpeg has completely ruined my photos, and they look worse now than they did before. Also, we REALLY need more mods on the site. Too many idiots are running loose out there mass uploading. It ruins the fun for everyone since their pictures are completely buried on the front page by the mass uploads. Also, too many illegal spots are being posted. Just yesterday, I busted someone for uploading a photo of a Rolls Royce Silver Spur taken in back of the Miller Motorcars Aston Martin dealership when the Bentley/Rolls Royce dealership is right on the same property. In fact, there are still a few lurking around on this site that shouldn't be here to begin with.

Also, something has to be done about Gumball shots. I think they are completely illegal despite the fact that they have to pick their own route to the destination points. The destination points are where all the cars meet up, so they are basically headed to a show. And it is even posted on their website on where the destination points are, and too many people upload from the destination points.

And let's not forget my most biggest issue: People giving bullshit about uploading classic cars. There are HUNDREDS of other photos of classic cars, yet everybody decides to chew me out for it. I'm sick of it, and I am considering leaving the site because of it.

The site has not been the same since the gallardo pic was closed. We used to know each other well, use first names, and it was just better. We had a goal to get to 10000, and nearly had it, but then the block happened and austin left for good reason, and now its at 8000. Its just not as fun as it used to be.

Also, can you let us modify polls?

Austin never left. He was deleted for what he did to me. He destroyed my reputation. My reputation wasn't even the best in the first place because I am/was very strict when it came to junk that was uploaded. Some of the time, it would spark arguments between the uploader, other spotters, and some of the time I even got involved with it which didn't go over well in the long run.

But to sum up my response, he made me look like some completely rude, untrustworthy, monster of a person, which I am not.

On another note, we did not have a goal to hit 10,000 comments. The comments were locked due to the fact that people would spam to try and boost the number which would annoy others because they would get endless notifications.

Yes, the site has not been the same, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Sure, people will have different views on this issue, but now with this forum, you can have multiple, independent conversations on a single topic versus the 3-4 conversations that multiple people would have on the pseudo-forum all at the same time. It is now much more organized which means you do not have to go back pages and pages of comments to catch up on a conversation. It has also killed the amount of arguments that used to arise on that picture.

I do like this idea. It would help people, but I'm sure it's already in the plans.
