What type of negative reactions have people had when you take pictures of peoples (possible theirs) car?

I was taking a picture of an Alpina B7 and a guy walking his dog comes up to me and says, "What's this street you're taking a picture of?" I said, "I'm taking a picture of the car." So then he says, "Your taking illegal photos." Then he just stares at me for ten seconds and walks away.

Some guys saw me taking a picture of and Aventador and the guy said why are you taking a picture of a piece of cr*p? Then 10 seconds later he took a selfie if him with the car. Lol

Not an exotic or anything, but one time I was taking pictures of a 2014 Mazda6 Touring I saw in a mall parking lot. I love the car and didn't car if anyone saw me (except the mall security guards). So I get one rear shot of it, then I see one of their mall police cars driving around. I start to walk towards the mall, and the mall cop pulls up to me and was like, "yo, wutcha doin'? You were walking around the parking lot. It don't look good."

I told him something like, "I can't find the right entrance to the mall."

The cop is like, "sure, what entrance are you looking for?"

"I'm trying to find Belk's." (The entrance was right in front of me).

He's like, "go in there. Don't walk around the parking lots no more. It don't look right."

So I said, "yeah, I understand," and he gave me a weird look. So I walked off into the Belk's entrance.

I don't think I'll try that again unless it's something special like a Ferrari.

One day i did get a reaction actually. I was practicing my pannings on normal cars passing by in front of my house and a redneck in a big, rusty truck drove by but i wasn't being picky so i practiced on it and he got really mad and yelled at me through his window and honked all the way down the street because he didn't like that i took the photo for some reason. He didn't stop or turn around though so it wasn't a very big deal.

Mine worst spotting story is when I was up at the cherry creek mall in colorado, and I was in the valent part of the parking lot, I was taking a pic of a model S, and the valent guy comes up to me and he saids do you need help finding some thing, and I said no I am just car spotting. He gave me a weird look and walked back, I caught up with him, and I said where there any exotic here today he said yes a couple of Maseratis, and more, he said it was a slow day on exotics. I was like a couple Maseratis, and that is a slow day, and when I went back to my hotel. I was like what exotics do they have on a good day. So I have never got in trouble for taking a pic of a car.

My worst experience spotting is when I was taking pictures at the Miller Motorcars Service Facility. I was taking photos, and a guy came out of the lobby, and yelled "NO PHOTOS!". I asked why, and he said that it is because the cars have license plates on them, and they do not want the media finding out about it. Of course, being the rebel I am, I put my camera on Sport Mode, and just shot the rest of my photos running just snapping pictures along the way. They still haven't found out I did it.
