Yes but you'll see plenty without going into the shows. Plus, the show cars are often roaming the town throughout the weekend, so chances are you can still see them if you don't go.
I'm going to the Quail this year again. I can't wait until August.
Part of me wants you to send me picture updates when you're there, but part of me wants nothing to do with it haha. I think the shows I'm going to will match or at least come close to being comparable to car week. Only a few select cars will be absent at the shows I'm going to. Plus it will be a lot cheaper than going to Monterey. Still, I can't wait to go back in a few years.

You're so lucky to make it into that. I really wish I could make it there. I've been dying for it to come around ever since my parents made the decision to go.

Are you at least going to go for the spectator lot?

I am planning on stopping there. We still have barely anything planned. The only day that I know exactly what and when (somewhat) I'm doing is Sunday.

We'll I've developed a pretty solid itinerary for day-to-day car week stuff, based on what I experienced and what I've seen. If you wanna follow it, you'll be pretty well off.

Ian, you're going too?
Could you possibly message me a brief summary of the itinerary? It would be helpful for my planning.

This is what I recommend doing.
Tuesday go to the Concours on the Avenue and Automobilia Monterey.
Wednesday go to the Auction previews and Automobilia if you don't go on Tuesday.
Thursday watch the Tour D'Elegance in the morning and go spotting in Carmel while the tour is parked on Ocean. Maybe an auction preview in the afternoon.
Friday go to the Quail or Concorso Italiano. If you don't go to the Quail make sure to stop by and check out the valet lot. RM Auctions is that night and Bohnams is during the day.
Saturday you must go to the races at Laguna Seca. It is a fantastic, must do event and the tickets are relatively cheap compared to everything else. Make sure to go spotting in Carmel on Saturday evening. RM or Gooding at night.
Sunday spend the day at the Concours and go to Gooding after.

Thank you very much. I will definitely have to keep these in mind when planning it out.
