They were probably all rebadged Pontiac G8s or Chevy SS's, like every other Vauxhall or Holden in the US is. It doesn't cost that much to get custom badges and grilles.

It most definitely was. No one would waste the amount of money it'd take to import a VXR8 into the US and update it to our standards when they could simply get an SS and put some fake badges on it for much less.

If you have good connections you could get into some events. I got into the Ghibli reveal at our dealer (back when the car was still a tiny bit special).
