Should spectator lots designed for certain car brands like ones designed for Ferrari's, Jaguars, etc. be legal spots? I know that normal non-specific spectator lots are and I was just curious about these.

The "you know that they'll be there" rule kinda bugs me. Just because you know there'll be exotics somewhere doesn't mean they're not spots. That's kinda like saying you can't post car week spots, London spots, Dubai spots, or even Beverly Hills spots. You might know there'll be SOMETHING there, but you never know what, and there just might be nothing.

But I guess you're right about the sorted parking lot thing. If you go to a Ferrari section to see Ferraris, then you'll probably see Ferraris.

I think the latter part of that statement is a physical impossibility.

I would say definitely no. When there is a Ferrari only type lot the cars are basically on display. I have tons of pictures like this and I will never post them. Normal spectator lots are fine though.

Lol that's like my sister. She went to London a few months ago for like 2 weeks, and I had told her that there were tons of cool cars there and to take pics of anything she thought looked cool. She showed me pics of a bunch of Porsche Caymans, Bentleys, etc, and this Aventador, but other than that she was like "what are you talking about, there aren't that many cool cars in London". I'm assuming she didn't see much because she was sightseeing with a group the entire time. (This is the same sister that I mentioned in this spot's description lol)

Well the rules state. " REAL WORLD only, we want to see cars in the wild: NO car shows, racetracks, driveways, dealerships--what's the fun in that?"

http://www.exoticspotter.com/upload-photos/

As for "you know that they'll be there" rule where is this published?

I got this response from EPlusPlus.

"It should be pretty obvious for everyone, that it is impossible to write a set
of rules for ES with mathematical precision. Sometime we allow for NOT-REALLY-TRUE
spot to be published, sometime we remove TRUE spots because they are not cool enough and so on. That is why we have moderators (many thanks to them) to look and decide."
So it's up to the Mods to decide.

There are dozens of images on this site from car shows, racetracks, driveways etc that don't get removed despite the rules being black and white on this matter. So these must fall into the " Sometime we allow for NOT-REALLY-TRUE "spot to be published & " That is why we have moderators (many thanks to them) to look and decide" & "hat it is impossible to write a set of rules for ES with mathematical precision"

I would not go to a car show and take images, in the car parks, or even cars attending the event and pass these off as spots, but many here do and they seem to be allowed. If you know the cars are going to be there are the real world spots? It's a case of what people are comfortable posting and what the Mods decide.

Actually, I'm saying yes. You had no idea that the parking lot would be there, and it wouldn't be fair if the spectators were all directed to that lot and it's not legal, yet when you go to a normal parking lot, and the same cars are there, for some reason, that's legal. That makes no sense.

But you have no idea that there was going to be a parking lot for one brand to begin with. I bet the people at Lime Rock Park had no idea they were doing it. I'm saying yes to this.

No, it's basically a show within a show. Yeah, you don't know who will be showing up to cars and coffee either. It's completely random. Is it legit? No. They wouldn't have Ferrari parking if they didn't know of a few people bringing their Ferraris beforehand.

Cars and Coffee is different. I have evidence that these lots were not planned. In the Aston lot at Lime Rock Park, only two Astons showed up, and also, I overheard this conversation when asking where me and my mom should park. It was with a guy in a Porsche 356:

Owner: "Hi, can I just ask where general parking is?"
Attendant: "General parking is just up that road, but since you have such a nice Porsche, you are welcome to go into the lot reading "Porsche" on it."
Owner: "Oh wow, they have special Porsche parking?"
Attendant: "Yep. You may park there or in general parking"
Owner: "Alright, I'll go park with the other Porsches."
Attendant: "Excellent! Just go up that road and an attendant will assist you."
Owner: "Thank you." *drives off*

None of that matters. It's a preplanned area for exotics to meet/park.

Why is a normal spectator lot any different though? It would be the same cars except they are grouped differently. It's like the commutative property of spotting. You're just changing the grouping of the cars. It's still the same equation, just the grouping has changed.

You go through a normal spectator lot expecting normal spectator cars. You go to a Ferrari lot expecting to see a Ferrari. You don't go to a Ferrari lot expecting Toyotas and Hondas and Subarus in the same way you don't go through a normal spectator lot expecting Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Rolls Royces.
