No, it's basically a show within a show. Yeah, you don't know who will be showing up to cars and coffee either. It's completely random. Is it legit? No. They wouldn't have Ferrari parking if they didn't know of a few people bringing their Ferraris beforehand.
Cars and Coffee is different. I have evidence that these lots were not planned. In the Aston lot at Lime Rock Park, only two Astons showed up, and also, I overheard this conversation when asking where me and my mom should park. It was with a guy in a Porsche 356:
Owner: "Hi, can I just ask where general parking is?"
Attendant: "General parking is just up that road, but since you have such a nice Porsche, you are welcome to go into the lot reading "Porsche" on it."
Owner: "Oh wow, they have special Porsche parking?"
Attendant: "Yep. You may park there or in general parking"
Owner: "Alright, I'll go park with the other Porsches."
Attendant: "Excellent! Just go up that road and an attendant will assist you."
Owner: "Thank you." *drives off*
None of that matters. It's a preplanned area for exotics to meet/park.
Why is a normal spectator lot any different though? It would be the same cars except they are grouped differently. It's like the commutative property of spotting. You're just changing the grouping of the cars. It's still the same equation, just the grouping has changed.
You go through a normal spectator lot expecting normal spectator cars. You go to a Ferrari lot expecting to see a Ferrari. You don't go to a Ferrari lot expecting Toyotas and Hondas and Subarus in the same way you don't go through a normal spectator lot expecting Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Rolls Royces.

Except you don't know the lot is there. Like I said, only the GROUPING of the cars change, not the fact that it wasn't participating in any event. Why is that so difficult to understand? Cars & Coffee is a designated event where people are actually sitting on lawn chairs showing off their car while parking is just, well, parking. They never tell the people who go there in advance that there is going to be a lot just for Lotus or Aston Martin, or anything like that. Not even the people who actually park there. It is in the normal spectator lot mixed in with all the other cars... well at least at Lime Rock Park.

Thanks for your input guys as I agree with you who said they aren't legit. In a normal spectator lot you see 95+% normal cars (at MOST shows) and have to actually look for exotics where at a Ferrari lot you dont have to "spot" out the Ferrari's. I just saw a few on the site and was wondering.

Just because you and one other guy in a Porsche didn't know that there was Porsche parking doesn't mean that it wasn't planned ahead of time by the crew that organized the event. The fact that you don't know the lot is there is irrelevant. Someone claims they didn't know there was a car meet going down in their area similar to C&C, can they upload the photos? No. The fact that the people aren't sitting around their cars also has nothing to do with anything.

I have to say yes on this one. These people show up to watch the race, attened the show, not be part of it. Its called "Spectator parking" For a reason. its not a club or anything, just a place with people with some nicer cars to park.
Also, if these are not legit spots, the Shanes Pictures of the Ferrari Paddock at Lime Rock Park need to be deleted. Same situation.

People have actually gotten away with posting event photos saying they didn't know about it. For example, the Vitesse that was spotted in Greenwich by FastNExotic. If this is not allowed, how come Shane gets to have his Ferrari paddock spots up?

He doesn't. If the moderators see this and come to a conclusion that this stuff is illegal, they'll take those photos down.

plus, gregg gave him permission to upload those, so these should be legit as well

Look, I don't know anything about Shane's situation and its circumstances. I'm simply pointing out why this stuff shouldn't be legal and why a majority of people voted "no" in this poll.
