I went to a car show at a shopping center and around the back of it there was an area of VIP parking. These cars were not on display for the show. I want to know if I could post them? I know that spectator lots are allowed and I have seen that "Shane" (@Lamboshane) has a few pictures at a Ferrari spectator lot. So can I upload them or not?

I think you will find LamboShanes images were from the car park where the event was held, not a spectator lot, and the cars were involved in the event. The hotel where they were taken was clearly where the event meet was taking place.

Some from organised events get deleted and some do not. I have seen another "spotter" who has posted imaged from a event at a particular hotel and they seem allowed.

I was talking about some old pictures of his but I don't mean to point fingers or anything.
Okay well the pictures I have were at a VIP parking area around the back of a small show that was only on for one day. So the cars in that area were just parking there for a few hours to go have a look. Is it regarded as part of the event and therefore illegal to upload?

Imo, if it is a parking area dedicated to exotic cars, no. If it is just a parking area where you have to pay for the privilege to park there or you have to be someone or something and it's completely random what cars you'll see there, yes.

I've seen people uploading shots from "exotic parking" areas. Like wtf, I know whatever shows up is random but they wouldn't have made an exotic parking area in the first place if they didn't know people would be showing up with exotic cars. It isn't carspotting, just abusing a loophole. Then again this is my opinion and I'm probably alone in this boat.

Drenzo, what on earth do you mean they were part of the show? For your information, I messaged the admins before I uploaded any pictures from there and they said it was fine. They were spectators and that is the end of the story.

EDIT: You seem to have me mistaken with the person who uploaded the FCA pictures in Wisconsin - that was not me.

So I guess this means I can't upload the GoldRush5 SLS AMG, Lotus Exige, Ferrari 458 Italia, and F355 I found in the VIP Parking lot even though they were somewhat mixed in with normal cars?

Sorry my mistake you were the guy who was saying the images taken from the FCA car park, which was clearly a event were legit, well it seems they were not as they were removed.

Sorry if I suggested you uploaded those images.

So the admins told you it was fine to upload those pictures in the spectator lot at LPR, that sounds good then

Yeah, I'd say it's fine to upload yours.

Literally every forum post from this guy is just harping about that stupid event. Let it go.

Near half your spots are from one Event, probably why you are so defensive over event spotting.

Since when is a hotel where exotic cars stay considered an event?

When the event is being held at the hotel in question, is a good start.

The Concorso d'Eleganza was held at the Pocono Manor therefore the Pocono Manor was the EVENT.

Wont bother covering the FCA 2013 event again.

The event was not held at the hotel, it was held at a golf course nearby. I would know, I was there. You wouldn't know because you're just looking at some awfully maintained website.
