Description Spotted this "Artfully Crafted" Gallardo LP550-2 leaving the Shell gas station on S Sounders St in Raleigh. The owner was really cool. This is a 2013 model, and has an extremely rare true six speed manual transmission. This is probably one of the only 2013 models in the world with a clutch pedal. What do you think of the shot and edit?
Thanks guys! I did not know that! I talked to the owner for a few minutes as he was filling up at the gas station and he didn't say anything about it being a special edition or anything, but I think you're right! Probably not many other 50° Anniversario editions running around with manual gearboxes!
Nick this isn't an LP550-2, this looks to be an LP560-2 50 Anniversario! They only made 100, the fixed wing is the way to tell. I do not believe the LP550-2 has that, someone tell me if I'm wrong.
Thanks Patrick! I completely agree with you, ever since I learned how to drive (in a manual of course!) I've always preferred it, no matter how much slower they are than automatics. It's a shame they're disappearing like this.
There are a couple first gen Gallardo's in NC with manual transmissions, but I can't imagine there being many of these second gen models. I hear you and completely agree though, I've met supercar owners who got exotics that were available with manuals, yet they bought them with an automatic, and they're like "but it's faster!" I'm too polite to say it to their face, but it doesn't freaking matter unless they race their car competitively.
Yeah that's the thing I don't get. People say they got the paddle shift tranny because it's faster... but who cares? When will you ever need it to be faster? And yeah, huge respect for this owner.
Thanks guys! Ryan I completely agree with you! And yeah Malcolm I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the gated shifter! I said something like "so, the manual....how on earth did you find one?" to the owner. He said 2013 was the last year they offered the Gallardo with a stick, and then was like "yeah the E-Gear is faster and all, but almost nobody lives on a racetrack. I don't need paddle shifters for normal driving."
I've got soooooooo much respect for that guy.
And haha @Lamborarri! That sign didn't come out very well. Who cares, I'd rather have the Gallardo come out well than a sign lol.
