Ok, thanks! I was just worried I was doing something wrong since I was uploading photos directly from the computer without any editing and getting such poor results. Odd. But I'll use the tips!
In the windows editor there is a lighting adjustment called highlights. It basically takes the glare off the shot. Other than cropping and adjusting highlights, I don't try to over do it. I try and keep it as natural as possible.
I have a Mac but will look into those settings and see what's comparable in my programs. When you say high light adjustments, do you mean things like making the picture lighter, increasing saturation, etc.? Your photos don't look edited at all!
Yesterday I took two shots of each car I saw...one in auto and one in landscape. I honestly didn't see much of a difference, but the lighting did seem a bit better when in auto. I'm still working with the manual settings so I didn't test those yet.
Most of the time I just keep mine in AUTO. For night shots, I put it on the low light/night setting and stay as still as possible. Believe it or not, I'm not much of a skilled camera guy. I've really worked on improving my shots within the last two years.
Thanks, I appreciate it. A few of my shots were taken with my iPhone 5 while the rest were taken with my old Canon SX130 IS. I only have two pictures posted so far with my new T3; the two pictures of the white Panamera (last page). I'll try working with the lighting and see if I get better results. I use the standard kit lens and am still testing different settings and deciding what works best for car shots. Any suggestions for that?
I just went through some of your shots. There excellent but some might be helped a little by cropping and some high light adjustments. I use Windows Live Photo Gallery Editor. You can adjust the graininess there as well. Try it and let me know how it goes for you.
For example, that "cartoonish" look you see on the thumbnails usually hints towards better-quality images with more true colors. I figured that might be because of saturation, but I noticed that my images still seem grainy with or without editing.
You said you use a Canon T3, right? I recently got one but my photos on here don't look too good compared to others, including yours. Any secrets? Editing, exporting, etc.?
I'll stick with the stock rims. Nice spot. I'm going down to Atlanta in March or April. Can't wait to visit the Phipps, seems like there are a lot of nice cars. I saw a Performante when I was on Peachtree but the picture was really bad quality so I'm not even going to bother posting it.
