Laraki

Laraki is an obscure Moroccan based auto maker that specializes in high performance cars. Founded by Abdeslam Laraki, he originally designed luxurious yachts mainly to the King of Bahrain, but began developing its first car, the Fulgura. Laraki also built the Borac and Epitome.

Fulgura

The Fulgura was first shown at the 2002 Geneva Motor Show as a concept. Production version was to debut the following year. In 2005, a redesigned Fulgura was unveiled. It was to have a quad-turbo Mercedes-Benz 6.0 L V12 producing about 920 horsepower with a 6 speed manual. Top speed was estimated at about 247MPH and have a 0-60 in about 3.3 seconds. However, by 2006, the figures were amended to 730 horsepower, a 7 speed gearbox, estimated top speed of 217MPH, and 0-60 at about 3.4 seconds. Its planned price tag was about $555,000. Sadly, the Fulgura would remain a one-off.

Borac

The Borac was the second car by Laraki. Debuting at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, Laraki planned to have production ready version by 2011. Designed as a grand tourer, the Borac was to use a Mercedes-Benz 6.0 L V12 producing 540 horsepower and have a top speed of 193MPH. 0-60 was about 4.5 seconds. Again, like the Fulgura before it, the Borac remained as a concept.

Epitome

At the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California, Laraki unveiled its third car, the Epitome. It uses a twin turbocharged C6 Corvette V8 producing an estimated claim of 1,200HP. Laraki plans to build 9 examples for a price tag of about $2 million. The Epitome, however, faces a big problem in that Laraki Automotive folded in 2008 with the 2 previous cars never making into production.
