Description I spotted this Lotus Europa (either an S2 or Twin Cam) parked on the side of the street in front of a house in Sodus Point. I believe the owner was at the bar at the time. Who would let their Lotus get to this condition? The paint was messed up, the wheels were extremely darkened, the chrome was chipping, the leather was cracked, the carpet was tearing, and the wood on the interior was fading/chipping/losing its gloss. But at least the owner was still driving it.
The deeper area of Hudson Ave. was where the Rolls Royce was. Hopefully it's still there because i still haven't seen it yet. You know, the ghetto part of the street.
And i agree. These are amazing cars. And they look so comfy too. I really wanted to fix this one as well, i'm not sure why the owner started his restoration with the chrome instead of the paint. Did you get any pictures of the one you saw???
Great spot. I remember when I was a kid in the early 70's there was a green one that lived a few streets away. That was the only one I ever saw in the flesh.. Very rare here in OZ...
and i think he started it with the chrome and engine because it ran too.
i'm wonderring if this is the same one i saw not long ago. the owner did say it had a complete restoration just before he bought it so maybe this was the one he bought.
I just saw another one a couple weeks ago. But the new one was in much better condition and was next to an Austin Healey. I met both owners and they were really nice. I'll post it eventually
Thank you!!! And he really needed a new everything. I think it might have once been in a crash or been abandoned because everything on it was messed up.
