Description I saw this turning into a local motorcycle store so I stopped to look at it. The owner of it came out and had a conversation with me, he was very humble and was like an every day person, he daily drives a dodge Durango and has this for nice days. The reason he was here was because his bike was stolen and when the police recovered it, it was in terrible condition so he was getting parts.
I'm pretty sure my uncle beefed up his rear suspension after he wrecked the car (hit a curb, not terrible damage), he changed almost everything, new brakes, driveshaft, rear axle, and new rims, his were ruined, not sure which brand his suspension is, as I don't live there. But I'm signing off for tonight, I enjoyed talking mustangs, don't get to often, I'll send a friend invite, and catch ya later.
It was 04 that the cobras stopped having IRS, towards the beginning of next summer I'm going up start a build with a vmp tvs, upgraded fuel system, all aftermarket suspension I don't know who to go with yet. Either way I'm keeping the IRS just upgrading everything
That's what I thought, my brother was going to put 3:55s from my uncles mustang in his, but I thought the terminators were a solid rear axle, as I thought ford quit doing the IRS in 02, or was it 04? A lot of people replaced those. Couldn't hold when they put tons of power to them.
It sure is fun! Does the terminator still have 3:08 rear end gearing? Or were those 3:55? Because my brothers 94 cobra has no problem breaking loose in first either, but it loses everything changing up to second, and his has the 3:08 rear gears.
That's gotta be nice, I burn rubber through first and second without any problems, haven't tried third yet. The only race I lost so far is to a real 2000 cobra r with a 38 mil turbo
I'm not sure, he just put it on at the beginning of this summer, and he wants to Dyno it, so he hasn't really "tested" it yet, he wants to make sure it's working correctly before he gets crazy with it, all I know is that he can break loose at 50mph in third!
Wow that sucks, I like those old 5.0's. is the rough supercharger a tvs? I know on the new ones that's what they're using I'm not sure about the old ones. If so ask how he likes it because that's what I want to put on mine
Yes that is a problem with the s197s, and yes, he is running a 2.3 liter roush supercharger, coupled to an aftermarket exhaust system to run that kind of power, not sure on boost, his boost gauge doesn't work properly due to a wiring issue. The other mustang in my life, though, is my brothers 94 cobra. Sadly, we trashed it the first night we drove it, 145 mph on 6 cylinders, no oil, and no coolant don't do any good. It has a new ford racing crate motor now though.
Oh wow that's pretty nice, I'm not a fan of the yellow though. I'm assuming its supercharged and running a good amount of boost to be making those numbers, I'm making maybe a little over 400 to the wheels a mile above sea level but very little is done to it. My only issue with the s197 is that they seem so bulky and big while being underpowered from the factory
I tried to convince my uncle to buy a terminator back in 06, but he went with a brand new GT, screaming yellow, it's my favorite s197 body mustang I've seen in my area! And the 580 horsepower helps too!
