@Leaf_Soto Yes, apparently it was the lease specials that were luring customers in. There were tons of deals (and there still are, I think) that allowed people to lease them for like $599 or $699 per month. Some dealers were even selling them $10-$20k below MSRP depending on their trim level and options. Even then, I've heard so many bad things about the earliest Ghiblis that I still wouldn't want one. Plus, if you look up 'used Ghiblis,' you'll see that many are selling in the $28-$38k range.
Maybe the only reason they're so popular (apparently) is because they're so cheap. Last time I saw one in a mall with the crib sheet on it, it said the MSRP was only $87k.
Who wouldn't pick a GT over a Ghibli? I mean sure it's named after Disney's Japanese Animation branch but why would they then go and design it like some weirdly face-lifted Hyundai?
