Description Spotted on my last night of Car Week 2012. Legit spot I promise you. Heard rumor it was up the road so I ditched the SA Aperta I was shooting and found this! Oh and the Stirling moss was only 2 blocks away... lol
Just saw the thread/pics. Simply amazing that that car is only a couple hours from me lol. I'm not crazy about the "McLaren" decal on the sides; looks tacky on such a rare car.
It's my dream to see an F1 in person. I've seen an F1 GTR (Gulf livery) in person and in action before (two years in a row, '98 and '99, at Road America and even got to check it out in the pits and got some shots of the crazy interior), but I've yet to see a regular road car, which to me, is much more special.
Even though Rowan Atkinson has crashed his F1 twice, he does drive the thing everywhere, all the time, which IMO is better than a poor F1 just sitting in a museum or locked away in some secret collection where it never gets to do what it was designed and built for- being driven.
So though it's been wrecked, you know that when McLaren repairs their cars, they make them just as good as new. And if I had the income that Mr. Atkinson has and was able to purchase an F1, you can be sure that I'd be wracking up as many miles as I could in that thing as well.
