Ya something like that would be a good tourist camera, it wont be great in low light but it will let you get a little creative when you start playing around with the manual settings. But for that price if you have a choice get something with interchangeable lens. It will age better once your skills start improving.
Just get a basic DSLR that you can afford and that is not too heavy. But spend your money on lenses. Get one basic zoom and then a 35 or 50mm f2.0 or f1.4. Those Canon pancake lenses are cool. But don't go nuts on the body maybe even get a used one if you can find one.
Sweet. I'll be over there for 2 weeks travelling mainly large populated areas such as Tokyo, Kyoto etc. I've heard of a lot through there, so maybe I'll strike gold. I'm actually looking at purchasing a new DSLR soon to take with me on holiday as my iPhone really isn't what I want as a camera now. I'd rather get a proper camera to use for photography. Are there any Point and Shoot cameras you'd recommend as a starting camera? I was looking at one of the top of the line DSLR point and shoot, but I clearly have no clue what to purchase. Any help?
Be ready to see anything and everything, just no Aussie cars. I didnt see those. Lots of American cars like Corvettes, Cameros and 1950 lowriders. Its a crazy place. ALWAYS have you camera with you.
Looks incredible Jafo. I'll be heading to Japan on a school trip next year, and I've heard about a lot of exotics there :) Let's hope I see some cool stuff. I've heard of all sorts of Lambos, Ferrari's, McLarens etc. Have you seen the crazy chrome Lambos in Japan? The video of the Gallardo in Chrome makes it look like it is travelling through time at a high speed!
