Description Probably one of my weirdest spots. I spotted this 80s Mercedes G class 300GD Gelendes Wagon with a “professional” ladder and roof rack. Not sure if that’s a tune or a package. Apparently these were only available in Germany and are very rare in the USA. It even has an EU plate lol. It also had a Reagan Bush 1984 rear window sticker. Don’t know to much about this car though. I found one similar for sale though here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Mercedes-Benz-G-Class-MINT-Professional-4-door-Turbo-Di
D.C. is definitely a fun city to be! Went once on senior trip and loved it.
But they’ve been getting imported for a while. Not many and it wasn’t sent over by the company but everyone loved em so they’d bring em in like they did the Skylines.
Could also have been an American who put the Reagan/Bush sticker while they were living in Europe (where they bought the car most likely) but they might’ve just brought it back if it had EU plates.
But nomatter how it happened, I’ve been searching for one of these for a while (either to spot or purchase) so you’re lucky to have seen this early an example!
Thanks! I wonder how long this car was in the USA because it had a Reagan Bush window sticker from 1984. It also had Maryland dealer plates, which was weird because I couldn’t find it for sale anywhere.
