No, I probably broke even. Didn't pay much, and it wasn't worth much: When it was up on a lift at a garage I was able to put my index finger on the floor pan under the driver's seat, push, and the bottom would move up. Mechanic said that one day I'd get into the car and end up sitting on the pavement. Needed extensive, if not total, monocoque, floor pan rebuild. Rusted out. Bad German steel at the time. It was a while ago. Sure would love to have it today. Bet most of us would say that. But I'm a civilian. No space & only enough $ for one, entry level, at a time. No regrets.
OH WOW! I really cannot tell if it is a replica or not?! Did you make a decent amount of money on it? I bet you feel someone upset that you still didn't keepig it today, huh?
Your 'replica' suspicion is pretty, pretty good. Can't tell from here, but it smells squeaky new. What does it say on the front fender?
Original ones are very rare, the steel was extremely rust susceptible. The very short windshield = Speedster. Restored originals worth a fortune. Had one, an original, for a short time a while ago. Could turn on a DM 1
