Certainly the British cars had big lights like this, but tapered from the front to the back. These so-called "drum" shaped lights were particular to the American made Rolls-Royce.
This is an early, American made, Silver Ghost. Many people are not aware that prior to 1929, Rolls-Royce had a factory in Springfield, Massachusetts. Hence, they are referred to as a Springfield Silver Ghost to distinguish them from the British made ones. It can be confusing to Americans, as the car still has right hand drive (steering), as opposed to left hand drive. But the large "drum" headlamps give it away as a U.S. made car.
