Don't know about the whole "Volvo" color thing. But the color is a genuine, factory paint color called (prosaically enough) "Blue Grey". Many paint colors are shared by different car manufacturers. As an example, most of the colors available on Bentley today, are also available on Lamborghini, because Volkswagen own both companies. Looks like a nice car. One should note that it is best to express oneself the very least one can when getting personalized license plates!
