If it was a normal plate, it's perfectly fine. If it reads "Historical" on it, it isn't.

Well a plate is a plate. If it's state issued, you can drive with it.

In New York State, you are not allowed to drive a vehicle for daily transportation if it has a historical license plate on it. You are only allowed to drive it to car shows and parades, and that's it. It is the most dumbest law in the book. This is one of the reasons why I want to move to Connecticut.
